Why we’re saying no to Black Friday …(with love)

We’re not joining Black Friday & here’s why that feels right to us…

As a small British made brand, we put our heart & soul into everything we make which is why, once again, we’ll be sitting out Black Friday & Cyber Monday this year.

It’s never an easy decision to say no to something that dominates the retail calendar but it’s one that feels truer to who we are & how we work.

At Ella Bodi everything begins in our own design room. We cut, sew & finish every garment ourselves, carefully, not hurriedly & we simply don’t believe in the kind of fast paced, disposable fashion that these huge sales events encourage.

We’d love to share a few reasons why…

We don’t believe in fast fashion.

Black Friday often drives overproduction & impulse buying, two things we work hard to avoid, preferring to make less & make them beautifully, so that very little goes to waste.

Our prices are already fair.

Every Ella Bodi piece is priced honestly, reflecting the true cost of materials used, British craftsmanship and the skilled people behind it. We will never inflate prices just to slash them later, our value is built into the garment itself.

We’d like people to buy thoughtfully.

Buying clothing, especially lingerie should never be a rushed decision. It’s something very personal that makes you feel confident & special. We’d rather time be taken, choices made with care & many years of enjoyment had with what you buy.

We don’t overproduce.

Everything we make is produced in small batches. Joining large discount events would mean making more than necessary, which goes against our principles of mindful production & sustainability.

We’d rather make something meaningful.

Instead of preparing for a flash sale, we’ll be spending that time designing, sewing & improving what we do so that every piece that leaves our factory feels just right.

So while the world goes a bit frantic for a few days, we’ll be right here, making things slowly, carefully & with love.
