This coming week will mark one year since the devastating fire at our Middleton factory.
It is difficult to comprehend quite how much has happened during these last twelve months.
The past year has been one of the busiest, most challenging & most emotional periods in the history of our small business. Behind the scenes, we’ve all worked tirelessly to replace critical machinery, equipment, materials & accessories in order to get back to work and begin slowly rebuilding our much loved Ella Bodi collections.
Whilst we are incredibly grateful to once again be manufacturing, rebuilding after such a significant event is inevitably a gradual process and many of our customers will understandably have noticed that inventory levels across our website are currently very low.
In truth, this has been caused by a combination of two things.
Firstly, and most importantly, we have experienced truly incredible support & sales from you, our loyal and much cherished customers. Every order placed with Ella Bodi over the last year has genuinely meant the world to us and has played an important role in helping us continue moving forwards.
Secondly, our production capacity remains far more limited than it was before the fire.
For those of you who have known us for many years, you may already be aware that alongside Ella Bodi, we also manufacture garments for a number of other luxury, high-end brands here in Britain. Much like yourselves, many of these long standing customers have also supported our “Phoenix from the Flames” recovery by generously committing additional production with us following the fire.
Whilst this support has been both humbling & incredibly welcome, it does currently mean that production capacity for Ella Bodi itself can sometimes feel frustratingly limited and slow. Restocking sizes & colour options is often challenging and several new designs that we are extremely excited about have unfortunately been waiting patiently in the queue a little longer than we would ideally like.
We simply wanted to share honestly where things currently stand and tell you just how deeply grateful we are for everything you have done to support us throughout this unexpected journey.
Of course, there are moments when the ‘slower than hoped for’ progress can feel frustrating for us too. But equally, we constantly remind ourselves that we have an enormous amount to be thankful for.
Most importantly of all …we are still here!
As a small British business, every single customer, no matter how large or small their order may be, is genuinely part of what keeps Ella Bodi alive. Your loyalty, patience, kindness & consistent support will never, ever be taken for granted.
You truly do mean the world to us!
